[Occupytimessquare] 1 Marine vs. 30 Cops (Marine Wins)

Now this is the sort of thing we should really be seeing more of... a strong young man who, by virtue of his experience, is certainly not afraid of these riot-gear donning little thugs that seem to be more the norm now in American police forces rather than the exception.

The paramilitarization of the police is exceptionally disturbing, especially as they seem to revel in the abuse of their new-found “power.” To add insult to our injury, note that, with the $4 million “gift” that just arrived at the NYPD, the force could easily be construed as now being effectively beholden to and on the payroll of JPMorgan Chase, an evil outfit if ever there was one.

Bravo,  Sgt. Shamar Thomas! Bravo!

United States Marine Corps. Sgt. Shamar Thomas from Roosevelt, NY went toe to toe with the New York Police Department.

An activist in the Occupy Wall Street movement, Thomas voiced his opinions of the NYPD police brutality that had and has been plaguing the #OWS movement.

Thomas is a 24-year-old Marine Veteran (2 tours in Iraq), he currently plays amateur football and is in college.

Thomas comes from a long line of people who sacrifice for their country: Mother, Army Veteran (Iraq), Step father, Army, active duty (Afghanistan), Grand father, Air Force veteran (Vietnam), Great Grand Father Navy veteran (World War II).

Short version. Different angle.
